Wi-Fi and contact QR codes contain readable data
Encoding a value does not encrypt it or limit who can read it.
Treat the payload as public to its viewers
A Wi-Fi QR code can contain the network name, security type and password. A contact code can contain a person’s phone number, email and address. Anyone who obtains the image can attempt to decode that information. QRCodeTidy creates the code in your browser, but local creation does not make a printed or shared code private. Use a guest network and the minimum contact details appropriate for the audience.
Round-trip a harmless example first
Create a test code using sample values, decode it and inspect the resulting fields before entering real data. Special characters can require escaping in the payload format. Use the structured fields rather than manually concatenating a Wi-Fi string unless you understand that format. Then scan with the target phone and verify that it offers the expected action without silently changing the data.

Check decoded network name, security type and passwordPlan how you will replace an outdated code
A static code embeds its current payload. Changing a Wi-Fi password or contact number does not update already printed copies. Replace the distributed image and remove obsolete copies when necessary. A URL code can point to a page you control, but the availability and future content of that page depend on its operator. QRCodeTidy does not provide an account-based redirect service or remote editing of printed codes.
